Information About the Position:

Position Type - Temporary Supply Pastor (TE) for one year; Preferred experience: 5 or more years;

Language requirement: English; Spanish ability a plus; Employment status: 20 to 40 hours per wk.;

Compensation: Salary commensurate with experience and workload; Statement of Faith required: Yes

Ministry Requirements: Responsibilities for the full-time position; adjustable for part-time:

1. Plan and lead scheduled worship services, administer Sacraments

2. Perform memorial services as needed

3. Provide pastoral care, including hospital and home visits in coordination with Deacons

4. Moderate the Session and Congregational Meetings, providing active leadership

5. Provide support and information for the Ministry Discernment Profile creation

6. Coordinate and support the WPC Staff

7. Act as committee liaison as needed for Ministry Areas, Nominating Committee, and PAC

8. Encourage the Round Pantry food bank workers. (Pantry is self-managed and facilitated.)

9. Participate regularly in Presbytery

Description of Westview: A friendly and enthusiastic congregation which has recently lost its Pastor to retirement. This was an amicable separation from a gifted leader, so committees and established missions in the community are functioning well. The Round Pantry food bank serves over 1600 separate households, with the participation of 300+ volunteers from WPC, other churches, and community organizations. Our debt has recently been paid off, so that we are in a stable financial position to call a new Pastor. A temporary supply pastor is needed to support Westview in functioning well as it moves through the transition process.
