Thrive has Begun!

Thrive Begins With Thriving

Four of our five participants in the Thrive Pilot Program have arrived at Highlands Camp in Allenspark, CO. They come from different geographies: the South, Midwest, West. They have different faith backgrounds. They are at different transition points in their lives. But they are all excited to be here, to get to know one another, to explore this beautiful landscape, and to develop a way of life that will help them thrive in whatever comes next.

What they don’t know is the incredible, dedicated, passionate group of folks who have been preparing for this day. What started as the inkling of an idea among a small group in the Presbytery back in January has come to be a reality because of the prayers, gifts, time, energy, and love of many, many people. Some folks helped spread the word about the program so that these participants could find us. Some joined the Thrive team and helped develop program plans, sort out logistics, review applications, and much more. Some connected us to resources. Some donated funds. Some donated books and furniture and other needed items. Some helped clean and set up the cabin. And everyone we talk to about this program wants to know how they can help as it gets underway.

This is what thriving looks like: people filled with joy and passion connecting with a purpose. The Thrive community is already demonstrating this way of life we hope to share with these young adults. Many thanks to all who are teaching by example. May our Thrivers follow your lead.
